Gall Pharma Ornithine/Tryptophan Capsules are a food supplement containing 250 mg L-ornithine and 250 mg L-tryptophan. The amino acid combination strengthens the immune system, regulates the sleep-wake rhythm and much more.
Ornithine is a basic, non-proteinogenic amino acid that is produced in the urea cycle when urea is broken down from L-arginine. It is found in many plants and is not itself a protein building block. Ornithine is used in combination with arginine, citrulline and aspartic acid to detoxify ammonia. Ammonia is converted into urea in the liver and excreted in the urine. L-ornithine is also important for the hormone release of insulin, prolactin, glucagon and the growth hormone and promotes immunocompetence.
L-tryptophan is an essential, aromatic, long-chain amino acid. In addition to protein biosynthesis, L-tryptophan plays an important role in the central nervous system. As a precursor of the neurotransmitter serotonin and the hormone melatonin, it is primarily involved in the regulation of mood, the sleep-wake rhythm, stress tolerance and pain perception.
The increase in serotonin levels results in a certain drowsiness. The combination is therefore recommended before going to bed. The combination of the two amino acids favours an increased release of somatropin (STH). STH in turn favours an anabolic protein metabolism and has a fat-burning effect. The effects are particularly noticeable after training.

- Composition: L-ornithine HCl, L-tryptophan; capsule shell: gelatine; colours in the capsule shell: titanium dioxide, iron oxide, Ponceau 4 R, quinoline yellow (may impair activity and attention in children!), patent blue V; bulking agent: mannitol (may have a laxative effect if consumed in excess!)
