Kombucha extract powder contains various enzymes (invertase, amylase, catalase, proteinase), vitamins and organic acids (glucuronic acid, lactic acid, acetic acid). Vitamin C is said to be particularly important for strengthening the body's defences. It ensures the formation and functional maintenance of connective tissue and is important for wound healing. Kombucha can stimulate cell metabolism and is recommended for detoxifying and cleansing the body. It supports the organism during heavy exertion such as sport or stress and can also reduce the body's regeneration time. In general, Kombucha can make a valuable contribution to health, vitality and well-being.
- The term "kombucha" refers to a cold drink made by fermenting sweetened tea (usually fruit tea) with the kombucha fungus. However, in reality it is not a fungus, but rather a symbiosis between yeasts and acetic acid bacteria, which also accounts for the sour flavour. Fermentation produces a drink that is rich in acids such as glucuronic acid, acetic acid and lactic acid, and also contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C and folic acid.
- Glucuronic acid is responsible for the beneficial, special effect of kombucha. It binds with the body's waste products and toxins and makes them ready for elimination. The lactic acid present favours the maintenance of healthy intestinal flora and thus the entire digestive process. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is one of the most well-known and water-soluble vitamins. Humans and some animals cannot produce vitamin C themselves. Vitamin C is naturally found in particularly high concentrations in fruits and vegetables such as citrus fruits, kiwi, rosehips, blackcurrants, broccoli, potatoes and cabbage. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and is sensitive to oxygen, light and heat. Fruit and vegetables should therefore be prepared as quickly and gently as possible.
