Product information "Gall Pharma Elderberry Extract Syrup "
Gall Pharma Elderberry Extract Syrup is a dietary supplement with black elderberry. It supports the body's defences, strengthens the immune system, protects the cells from oxidative stress and improves well-being.
Elderberry extract syrup contains 31.4 g of elderberry extract per 100 ml, standardised to 4 % anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are among the most important substances in elderberries, and their content is higher than that of other berries or vegetables. In addition, the minerals iron and potassium, beta-carotene, and vitamins C, A, B1, B6, folic acid and essential oil are among the valuable ingredients. Anthocyanins are water-soluble plant pigments that occur in almost all higher plants and give flowers and fruits their red-violet or blue colour.
They protect the plant from the strong UV light of the sun, but above all they can bind free radicals that occur during oxidative stress and thus protect the body's cells. Elderberry juice, elderberries and the tea from the flowers have always been used as a household remedy for colds or flu-like infections. The essential oils have a diaphoretic and expectorant effect. Elderberry extract syrup is ideal for supporting the body's defences and for colds and flu-like infections.
Black elderberry
- The black elderberry (Sambucus nigra), also known as elderberry bush, is a shrub of the honeysuckle family (lat. Caprifoliaceae) and can grow up to 11 metres high. Its branches are strongly branched and bear umbel-like, white, fruity-scented inflorescences between May and July. These are favoured for making elderberry juice, elderberry sparkling wine or so-called "bunches" that are turned into dough.
- The leaves, bark, unripe berries and seeds of ripe berries contain the substance sambunigrin, which can lead to vomiting, severe diarrhoea or stomach problems. Black elderberry, with its purple dye sambucyanin, was once used to dye hair, leather and red wine. Today, the colouring agent is used for sweets or as an additive to dairy products in the food industry. When consuming the black berries, care must be taken to ensure that they are heated beforehand, as otherwise they may cause symptoms of poisoning.
- Elderberry, a well-known remedy in folk medicine for centuries, increases bronchial secretion and has a diaphoretic, diuretic, slightly laxative and blood-purifying effect. Elderberry extract syrup is rich in immune-boosting flavonoids. As a so-called nitrogen indicator, the shrub is preferably found in nitrogen-rich soil. In the past, the elderberry bush was said to have both positive and negative properties. For example, the withering of an elder bush was interpreted as a sign of the imminent death of a family member. The black berries of the elderberry contain flavonoids, fruit acids, anthocyanins, vitamins and folic acid.
