Gall Pharma Cystine Capsules is a food supplement containing 500 mg L-cystine per capsule. The amino acid L-cystine supports the appearance of the skin, improves the hair structure and helps with hair loss.
L-cystine is the stable form of the amino acid L-cysteine. It is an important source of bound sulphur for the human organism. The sulphur content of the body's protein is based on the content of the sulphur-containing amino acids L-methionine, L-cysteine and L-cystine.
This endogenous, vitamin-like substance fulfils the following functions:
- L-cystine is present in 12% of keratin, the main protein in hair and nails. Hair loss is often due to a lack of sulphur-containing amino acids, especially L-cysteine and its oxidation product L-cystine. People with hair loss often have low cysteine/cystine levels. Tests on humans and animals have shown that the supply of sulphur-containing amino acids improves both the hair structure of individual hairs and increases hair density.
- A cystine deficiency is also reflected in the appearance of the skin. An insufficient supply of sulphur-containing amino acids weakens our outer protective layer. A lack of L-cystine can impair hair growth, the protein structure of connective tissue and wound healing.
- Supplementing the diet with cystine 500 mg GPH capsules has proven effective for hair loss. Supplementing with cystine can also be useful for brittle, soft nails and problems with connective tissue.
