Gall Pharma Chromium Capsules are a dietary supplement with 100 µg chromium chloride per capsule. The essential trace element supports the normal metabolism of macronutrients and contributes to normal blood sugar levels.
Chromium is an essential trace element. Meat products, especially offal and muscle meat, as well as brewer's yeast, nuts and wholemeal products, especially oatmeal, are rich in chromium. With increasing age, both the absorption capacity and the storage quantity of chromium decrease. The trace element is a cofactor of some enzymes and is involved in carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
This trace element has the following functions:
- Contributes to the normal metabolism of macronutrients
- Contributes to the maintenance of normal blood sugar levels
- Has a positive influence on fat metabolism
Chromium plays a role in stabilising blood sugar levels so that cravings for sweets can be reduced. Supplementing with chromium can be useful for people with diabetes, for those on a high-carbohydrate diet with a low proportion of whole grains, for older people and for people with an increased metabolism (e.g. endurance athletes).
