Gall Pharma Carotene 5 mg capsules are a food supplement containing beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant that protects the body from free radicals and contributes to the maintenance of normal vision and mucous membranes.
Beta-carotene is probably the best known and most important carotene for humans and belongs to the carotenoid group. Carotenoids are widespread natural pigments that give many animals and plants their typical orange-yellow, red colour. Natural carotenes are found in large quantities in fruit (e.g. apricots) and vegetables (e.g. carrots) in particular. As beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A, is only produced in plants, it must be supplied with food. Beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A by the body as required or supports it with its antioxidant properties
