The annual or biennial marigold belongs to the Asteraceae family and has a distinctive scent that emanates from the sticky glands on its leaves. The earliest records of the marigold’s use as a medicinal plant date back as far as the 12th century. Our Calendula Balm is produced according to an old in-house recipe from the former Löwen Pharmacy in Bohemia. Calendula extracts promote the formation of granulation tissue and possess anti-inflammatory, wound-healing and immune-stimulating properties. Calendula Balm nourishes dry, chapped skin and helps to regenerate the skin in cases of grazes and skin irritations.
