Gall Pharma Benfotiamine 100 mg capsules are a food supplement containing benfotiamine, the precursor of vitamin B1. Benfotiamine is a precursor of vitamin B1 and is converted into the active vitamin B1 in the body.
The fat-soluble benfotiamine is characterised by a significantly better bioavailability compared to the water-soluble thiamine (about 5 to 7 times higher compared to vitamin B1). Benfotiamine is converted to vitamin B1 in the body. Due to the more effective absorption, a vitamin B1 deficiency can be compensated for more quickly with benfotiamine. Vitamin B1 has numerous functions in the human organism: For example, thiamine contributes to normal energy metabolism and plays a major role in the production of energy from carbohydrates and proteins. Thiamine also contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, as it is involved in the transmission of stimuli as a phosphate donor. Last but not least, thiamine contributes to normal mental function and normal heart function. As the human organism can only store small amounts of vitamin B1, a regular intake is necessary. Benfotiamine 100 mg GPH capsules contain 100 mg benfotiamine. Vitamin B1 is used as the starting material for production.
