The aronia berry (also known as chokeberry) is the fruit of the aronia shrub (Aronia arbutifolia) and belongs to the rose family. It is also known as the "health berry" and is rich in vitamins A, C, E and K as well as B vitamins, zinc and calcium. The anthocyanins contained in aronia berries protect the cells from free radicals and have antioxidant properties. Free radicals are caused, for example, by intensive sunbathing or everyday stress, but also by environmental toxins such as traffic fumes or smoking. Anthocyanins strengthen the immune system and contribute to increased iron absorption. Our aronia berry extract is obtained from the red chokeberry and is standardised to 10% anthocyanidins
