Gall Pharma Acetylcarnitine 500 mg capsules are a dietary supplement containing acetyl-L-carnitine, a derivative of the amino acid L-carnitine.
Unlike L-carnitine, acetylcarnitine has an additional acetyl group, which enables it to cross the blood-brain barrier. The blood-brain barrier is a natural barrier that separates the bloodstream from the central nervous system. Acetylcarnitine occurs naturally in human and animal tissues. Concentrations are particularly high in the heart and muscles, and in foodstuffs – especially in beef and pork. Acetylcarnitine 250 mg GPH capsules have high bioavailability and can therefore be rapidly made available to the brain as a nutrient.
