Pater Severin Rautenkraut Drops are a dietary supplement for oral use. The Rautenkraut Drops contain a high-quality aqueous/alcoholic extract of rue.
Hildegard von Bingen mentioned rue in her writings as a remedy for a wide range of ailments. She recommended rue in particular as a sedative, and for the treatment of gout, indigestion and menstrual cramps. Rue is primarily credited with antispasmodic, diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties. In folk medicine, preparations made from rue are also used externally, for example to treat swelling and sprains. The use of rue during pregnancy is not recommended.
