Father Severin’s rowanberry drops are a dietary supplement for oral use. The rowanberry drops contain a high-quality aqueous/alcoholic extract of rowanberries.
The rowan (Sorbus aucuparia L.) belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae). The berries contain, amongst other things, vitamin C, organic acids, essential oil, tannins, bitter compounds and parasorbic acid. In alpine regions, the distillate of rowan berries – known as ‘rowan schnapps’ – is particularly well known. In folk medicine, rowan berries are said to have beneficial effects on the kidneys, as well as on rheumatic complaints and menstrual cramps.
