The ragwort herb is said to have diuretic properties and stimulate the secretion of gastric juices. In folk medicine, ragwort is therefore said to have favourable effects on the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory tract, the kidneys, rheumatism and gout. It is also used to stimulate the appetite.
