The red cinchona bark tree is also known as fever bark or apothecary bark. The main ingredients are bitter alkaloids (quinine, quinidine, quinchonine and quinchonidine), tannins and bitter substances. The bitter orange or bitter orange is similar to an orange, but bitter and smaller. In the past, bitter orange was used as a remedy for nervousness, insomnia, loss of appetite and indigestion. Yellow gentian (Gentiana lutea L.) The main constituents of gentian root are bitter substances. Amarogentin, which is stored in the root bark, is primarily responsible for the bitter flavour.
Gentian root is used for gastrointestinal complaints as well as bloating, flatulence and loss of appetite and is sworn by the positive support of the bittering agent. True cinnamon (Cinnamonum Zeylanicum), also known as Ceylon cinnamon. Cinnamon contains essential oil (cinnamaldehyde, eugenol) and tannins.
