Chrysanthemums (Crysanthemum) belong to the Asteraceae family. The main ingredients are essential oils (chrysanthenone), anthocyanins, flavonoids and sesquiterpene lactones. They are used in traditional Chinese medicine for their antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, vasodilatory and antihypertensive effects. Chrysanthemum flowers are used to support skin infections, high blood pressure, inflammation (eyes, throat, lungs, liver), headaches, tinnitus and flu-like infections with fever.
