The bitter orange or bitter orange (Citrus × aurantium L.) is similar to an orange, but bitter and smaller. The bitter orange originated as a hybrid between grapefruit (Citrus maxima) and mandarin (Citrus reticulata). Bitter orange is also used as a remedy for nervousness, sleep disorders, loss of appetite and indigestion.
