Wild garlic (Allium ursinum) comes from the genus "Allium" and is therefore related to chives, onions and garlic. Wild garlic is a well-known vegetable, spice and medicinal plant. Wild garlic was already being used as a medicinal and food plant in the Middle Ages. It is used for stomach complaints, arteriosclerosis, circulatory disorders, high blood pressure, loss of appetite, indigestion, flatulence, asthma, bronchitis and coughs.
