Common toadflax is a plant species belonging to the genus Linaria in the plantain family (Plantaginaceae). Toadflax is said to have diuretic and laxative properties. In addition to linarin, the most important constituents of toadflax include pectolinarin (flavone glycosides) and peganin (alkaloids).
