The coneflower (Echinacea angustifolia) belongs to the asteraceae family. The ingredients of echinacea include echinacin, essential oil, resins, bitter substances, phytosterols and echinacoside. Echinacea is used as a defence-boosting agent and for febrile illnesses due to its antibacterial and immunostimulant properties.
