The strawberry (Fragaria vesca L.) is known as the "queen" of the soft fruit varieties. The leaves contain tannins. These are used as tea or drops to treat stomach and intestinal disorders, gout and rheumatism, as well as to support the heart and circulation. In folk medicine, fresh strawberries are used for liver and gallbladder complaints and as a general tonic.
