The strawberry (Fragaria vesca L.) is known as the "queen" of the soft fruit varieties. The leaves contain tannins. These are used as a tea or as drops for stomach and intestinal disorders, gout and rheumatism, but also to support the heart and circulation. In folk medicine, fresh strawberries are used for liver and gallbladder complaints and as a general tonic.
