With its intense flavour, aniseed (Pimpinella anisum), one of the oldest spice plants in Europe, brings back childhood memories, as it is used in numerous Christmas confectionery products. But aniseed not only refines bread and baked goods, it also has various other functions. It is no coincidence that this plant was named medicinal plant of the year 2024 by the Association for the Promotion of Natural Healing (NHV Theophrastus). The ingredients of aniseed stimulate the glands of the gastrointestinal tract, thereby having a beneficial effect on these organs and preventing the unpleasant formation of excessive digestive gases.
