Paracelsus himself recommended senna leaves as a medicine. He recognised their laxative properties and their importance as a laxative. After ingestion, the anthraquinone glycosides – the main active ingredients in senna leaves – reach the large intestine without being systemically absorbed, where they can exert their laxative effects.

Directions for use
Adults: Take 10–20 drops, diluted in a glass of water, 2–3 times as required. When taken in the evening, the desired laxative effect sets in after approximately 8–12 hours.
