Pater Severin Sanguisorbis Spray is a dietary supplement for oral use, based on an ancient monastic recipe. It is made from an aqueous/alcoholic extract of great burnet.
Great burnet (Sanguisorba officinalis L.) belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae). Great burnet contains, amongst other things, triterpene saponins (e.g. sanguisorbin), tannins and flavonoids. It has traditionally been regarded as having, above all, a haemostatic effect. In folk medicine, it is said to have beneficial effects on inflammation in the mouth and throat.
