Lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris L.) belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae). The plant, which is often used in naturopathy for various female complaints, owes its name to the dewdrops that can be found in the centre of the plant leaves every morning. The herb of the plant is mainly used for diarrhoea, female complaints such as excessive and painful menstruation, but also for night sweats and insomnia. The most important ingredients include tannins, bitter substances and flavonoids.
