Father Severin’s Ivy Leaf Drops are a dietary supplement for oral use. The ivy leaf drops contain a high-quality aqueous/alcoholic extract of ivy.
Saponins are found in all parts of the ivy plant, but it is primarily the leaves that are used. The plant also contains phenolic carboxylic acids, polyacetylenes, flavonoids (e.g. rutoside) and essential oil. Ivy leaves have a long history of use. They have proven particularly effective for colds and various types of cough – acting as an expectorant, promoting the clearance of phlegm and soothing the cough reflex.
