Pater Severin Ginkgo Spray is a dietary supplement for oral use, based on an ancient monastic recipe. It is made from a 100 per cent aqueous/alcoholic extract of ginkgo leaves.
The ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba L.) belongs to the ginkgo family (Ginkgoaceae). Its constituents include diterpenes such as ginkgolides A, B and C; sesquiterpenes, including the compound bilobalide; flavonoids; organic acids; and ginkgolic acids. In laboratory tests, ginkgo has been shown to have positive effects on nerve cells and to protect against harmful influences. Ginkgo is therefore used to treat poor concentration, circulatory disorders, dizziness, ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and memory problems.
