The whole calyxes of the heather are found in western Europe and favour acidic, highly permeable soils. The ingredients of erica flowers include arbutin, enzymes, flavone glycosides, tannins, saponins and minerals. Erica flowers can have positive effects on rheumatism and gout, colds, bladder and kidney stones, eczema of the skin, gastrointestinal complaints, as well as liver and gallbladder diseases. Erika blossom is also said to have positive properties for depressive moods, nervous restlessness and sleep disorders.
