The dandelion belongs to the genus Cichoriceae. The ingredients of the dandelion include Vitamins, bitter substances, triterpenes and sterols, carotenoids, flavonoids, tannins, lots of calcium as well as trace elements. The plant has choleretic, appetite-stimulating and diuretic properties and is mainly used to treat dyspeptic complaints and disorders of bile flow.
