The condurango bush (Marsdenia cundurango) comes from the silk plant family (Asclepiadaceae). The dried bark with its ingredients is mainly used: Condurangosides, steroid saponins, flavonoids and coumarin derivatives. Condurango bark is said to have positive effects on digestive pain and stomach problems. In folk medicine, the bark is also used as a bittering agent. It can increase the secretion of saliva and gastric juice and help with a lack of appetite.
