The Pater Severin Benzoin Spray is a dietary supplement based on an old monastery recipe for ingestion. Made from a 100 % aqueous/alcoholic extract of benzoin resin.
The benzoin resin is obtained from Siamese benzoin. These are members of the Styrax tree family (Styracaceae). In order to extract the resin from the trees, it must first be cut into a V-shape. The main ingredients are benzoic acid esters, benzoic acid and vanillin. Benzoin is also used in the manufacture of perfumes or for incense. Benzoin resin has positive effects on bronchitis, asthma and chest congestion, and also has calming and antispasmodic properties.
