Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) belongs to the legume family (Fabaceae). It is known from traditional Chinese medicine, where it is used as a tonic. Due to the possible stimulation of the immune system, the root is used for colds, recurring infections, poorly healing wounds and general weakness, including tiredness, exhaustion and loss of appetite.
