Pater Severin Asant drops are a dietary supplement for oral use. The asafetida drops contain a high-quality aqueous/alcoholic extract of asafetida powder.
The umbellifer asafetida (Ferula asa foetida), also known as stinky asafetida or devil's dung. The root contains gum resin, which has a very unpleasant odour. When used in cooking, however, the odour changes to that of onions and garlic. The ingredients include coumarins, azulene, resin, essential oils, asaresitannol and vanillin. Asafetida has a digestive effect, but is also used to treat asthma and whooping cough.
