Angelica root (Angelica archangelica L.), also known as angelica root, belongs to the umbelliferous family (Apiaceae). The positive properties of angelica root are mainly due to the essential oils and bitter substances it contains. In particular, its favourable effect on the stomach and intestines, for example in cases of bloating and flatulence, as well as its use in cases of loss of appetite, is very well documented.
