Equinovo® tablets, 50 ST

Product information "Equinovo® tablets"

Beipackzettel ansehen

Equinovo® tablets are a dietary supplement with a special combination of selenium, vitamin B2, plant enzymes and important lectins from the lentil.

All the ingredients used in Equinovo® are designed to complement each other.

  • Equinovo® contains selenium - as sodium selenite. Selenium is a vital trace element that fulfils important tasks for the human body's metabolism to protect healthy cells, for the functioning of the immune system and to maintain thyroid function. Selenium is recommended by professional organisations (e.g. German Cancer Society or German Nutrition Society).2), 3)
  • Bromelain from pineapple and papain from papaya are plant protein-splitting enzymes. Scientific research has long focussed on the versatile properties of these enzymes. As a result, taking plant enzymes to support the immune system appears to be recommended.
  • Vitamin B2 has a particularly positive effect on maintaining healthy mucous membranes.
  • The patentedspecial lentil extract contained in Equinovo®is excellently tolerated.

What is special about the active ingredients in Equinovo®?

Selenium as sodium selenite

Selenium is an essential trace element that is found in the earth. Our body cannot produce it itself. Unfortunately, the soil in Europe is poor in selenium, which is why many people have a selenium deficiency. This deficiency can be compensated for very well by supplementing selenium. The form in which we consume selenium is decisive here - as "sodium selenite", selenium is bound to a salt and what the body does not need is excreted via the kidneys. Sodium selenite does not accumulate unnecessarily in the body. For this reason, medicine prefers sodium selenite, the "medical selenium" (in Equinovo®), as it does not cause excessive selenium levels in the blood. No other selenium supplements need to be taken while taking Equinovo®.

Selenium in food

Selenium is also found in some foods. There it is bound to an amino acid as "selenomethionine" (organic) and is thus "stored" in the body. Excessively high selenium levels often result from the well-intentioned intake of foods particularly rich in selenium (selenomethionine), such as Brazil nuts, sesame, tuna or liver. As Equinovo® contains selenium in sufficiently high quantities, you do not need to take any foods containing particularly high levels of selenium.

Foods or drinks containing vitamin C should be taken at a distance from sodium selenite, as the optimum absorption of selenium could otherwise be reduced. According to current textbook recommendations, the selenium concentration in the blood should be 120 to 140 mcg/l - these guide values apply in particular to people with cancer, as both the therapy and the disease "deplete" the selenium level. The 300 microgram daily dose (with the recommended intake of Equinovo ®) takes account of an increased daily requirement. Of course, the blood level should be determined from time to time if selenium-containing tablets are taken over a longer period of time.

Incidentally, selenium is not an antioxidant in the true sense of the word. Antioxidants are substances that have a direct antioxidant effect (e.g. vitamin C) on cells. In contrast, selenium needs helpers - special enzymes - to develop its protective effect. These enzymes are missing in many degenerated cells - therefore selenium does not protect harmful cells, but can only protect healthy cells from free radicals.

Lentil extract containing lectin

Scientific studies indicate that the regular consumption of lentils has a fundamentally positive effect on health. The variety of positive effects investigated, e.g. on blood sugar, metabolism or the heart and circulation, is remarkable.4) Current research is also focussing on the health-promoting effects of these lentil lectins on the mucous membranes and the immune system. The extraction process specially developed for Equinovo® uses lentil seedlings to obtain the special extract. Gentle purification guarantees the highest quality.

Plant enzymes

Enzymes are biocatalysts. They are needed to start or stop biological processes and enzymes can thin the blood. A property that is highly desirable, especially in old age. This also means that if you are taking anticoagulants at the same time, this should be discussed with your doctor. Simple gastrointestinal disorders can also occasionally be attributed to the intake of enzymes. Tablets containing enzymes, taken directly with a meal, can cause problems with the digestion of proteins, which can manifest themselves in a feeling of fullness and flatulence. It is therefore recommended that at least one hour should be kept between meals. Regulate by distributing the daily dose throughout the day or by temporarily suspending the enzyme intake

Dosage form

Tablets

Directions

  • Take 2 tablets once a day 1 hour before or after a meal, swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.
  • Do not take the tablets at the same time as drinks or food containing vitamin C, as the optimum absorption of sodium selenite is reduced by taking vitamin C at the same time. Of course, you may take products containing vitamin C at a time interval before taking Equinovo®. In general, you should swallow the tablets with plenty of liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water). If you are bothered by the odour and taste of the ingredients when taking the tablets or if you have difficulty swallowing, simply take the tablet with some yoghurt on a spoon and drink a glass of water. As Equinovo® contains selenium in sufficiently high quantities, no other selenium products or foods with a high selenium content such as Brazil nuts, sesame, tuna, liver etc. should be taken at the same time.
  • Advice: People with blood coagulation disorders with an increased tendency to bleed (e.g. haemophilia) or who are being treated with anticoagulant medication should consult their doctor about whether they can use Equinovo®.
