Effipro 268 mg solution to be dripped on for large dogs, 4 ST

Effipro 268 mg solution for large dogs is a veterinary medicinal product for the treatment of flea (Ctenocephalides spp.) and tick (Dermacentor reticulatus) infestations.

Indications

• Treatment of flea (Ctenocephalides spp.) and tick (Dermacentor reticulatus) infestations. The insecticidal efficacy against a new infestation of fleas lasts for up to 8 weeks.
• The veterinary medicinal product has a persistent acaricidal effect of up to 4 weeks against ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus). In the case of certain tick species (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus), not all ticks may be killed within the first 48 hours, but only within a week.
• The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of a treatment plan to control flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).

Solution to be dripped onto the skin according to body weight as follows:

• * 1 pipette of 0.67 ml per dog with a body weight between 2 and 10 kg
• * 1 pipette of 1.34 ml per dog with a body weight between 10 and 20 kg
• * 1 pipette of 2.68 ml per dog with a body weight between 20 and 40 kg
• * 1 pipette of 4.02 ml per dog with a body weight between 40 and 60 kg For dogs over 60 kg: two pipettes of 2.68 ml.

Method of administration:

Thermoformed pipettes:

1. Hold the pipette vertically. Tap the narrow part of the pipette so that the entire contents are in the main part of the pipette. Bend the cap of the pipette along the marked line.
2. Part the skin so that the skin is visible. Place the pipette tip directly on the skin and squeeze the pipette several times to empty the contents onto the skin. Repeat the procedure in one or two other places along the animal's back.

Polypropylene pipettes:

1. Remove the pipette from the packaging. Hold the pipette vertically and remove the cap by twisting and pulling it off. Turn the cap round and place the other end of the cap back on the pipette. Twist the cap to break the seal, then remove the cap from the pipette.
2. Part the skin so that the skin is visible. Place the pipette tip on the skin and squeeze the pipette several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. Repeat the procedure on one or two other areas along the animal's back.
3. Applying the solution close to the base of the skull reduces the possibility of the animal licking the solution off. Care should be taken to ensure that the animals do not lick each other after treatment.
4. The coat should not be excessively soaked as this will stick the hair to the application site. If this does occur, it will disappear within 24 hours of treatment.

• One pipette of EFFIPRO contains 2.68 ml: 268 mg fipronil.
• Other ingredients, knowledge of which is necessary for the proper administration of the product: Butylhydroxyanisole E320 0.536 mg/pipette, Butylhydroxytoluene E321 0.268 mg/pipette.
