What is boswellia?

Boswellia - also known as frankincense - is a plant genus in the balsam tree family (Burseraceae). The plant is characterised by its boswellic acid content and has had a great tradition and importance in Ayurvedic natural history in India, the Orient and China for over a thousand years.

What is Pycnogenol®?

Pycnogenol® is a natural plant extract from the bark of the French maritime pine, which grows along the south-west Atlantic coast of France and is also known as the "natural all-rounder". The original extract contains a natural combination of secondary plant substances with unique properties. Horphag Research has dedicated 40 years of research to proving the efficacy, quality and safety of Pycnogenol®. To date, the natural extract has been tested on more than 10,000 study participants and a total of 160 clinical studies and 420 scientific publications have been published in favour of the unique properties of Pycnogenol®.

What is curcumin?

Turmeric (Curcuma longa), also known as yellow ginger or turmeric, from the ginger family, is native to India and South East Asia. Many people are certainly familiar with turmeric from its use in the production of curry powder and as a natural colouring agent. However, turmeric has also been used in Indonesia and India (Ayurveda) for several thousand years. The main ingredients are curcumin and other curcuminoids, which belong to the secondary plant substances of phenols.

What makes Dr Wolz's curcumin special

Curcumin is not just curcumin. In order to realise the full benefits of this valuable secondary plant substance, it is necessary to significantly increase its bioavailability. In many products, this is achieved by adding piperine (from pepper) or micelles ("flavourings"). The problem is that all these methods can have potentially negative effects on the human metabolism. Dr Wolz therefore relies on cyclodextrin, a natural substance with no side effects, to improve bioavailability.

Curcumin in Phytoflam Dr Wolz®

The use of cyclodextrin increases the bioavailability of the curcumin in Phytoflam Dr. Wolz® by a factor of 40 compared to pure curcumin powder or conventional curcumin preparations. The curcumin molecule is bound in a ring of cyclodextrin molecules, making it water-soluble.

Vitamin C for cell protection and the immune system

Physical exertion can produce so-called free radicals. These are oxygen molecules that move uncontrollably in the body because they lack an electron. As a result, they can damage healthy cells. Vitamin C has the property of protecting cells from oxidativestress4 and can therefore also be described as a "radical scavenger". As free radicals can also impair the immune system, vitamin C also supports the normal function of the immune system5. The vitamin C in Phytoflam Dr Wolz® comes from the fruit powder of rose hips and is therefore of natural origin.

1* Vitamin C contributes to normal bone function, cartilage function and collagen formation.2** Vitamin D contributes to normal muscle function.3 Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the nervous system.4 Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. 5 Vitamin C and D contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
