In 1870, the Scotsman James Taylor succeeded in cultivating tea for the first time in Ceylon, now Sri Lanka. This marked the beginning of the history of the world-famous Ceylon tea. Tea grows best at warm altitudes above 1,200 metres with high humidity and sufficient rainfall. Slopes are ideal. This is where the best varieties are grown, which we use for DR. KOTTAS Ceylon Gold. Preparation
- For optimum flavour development, pour boiling water over 1 filter bag per cup (125 ml), cover and leave to infuse for 3-5 minutes - depending on individual preference - and enjoy the tea.
- Tips and useful information: The tea is particularly stimulating if you leave it to infuse for approx. 3 minutes, as most of the caffeine is released. For a calming effect, leave the tea to infuse for approx. 4 to 5 minutes.
