GranaProstan ferment: Live fermentation for high bioavailability

Studies show that even high-quality pomegranate juices are not utilised equally well by everyone, as the composition of the gut flora plays a key role in this1. Selected microorganisms, which have a long history of use, can improve bioactivity during live fermentation through their ferments (enzymes) – a kind of natural pre-digestion. In the process, they break down the fruit’s own sugars. This process was developed in 2004 by Dr L. M. Jacob and registered as an EU patent.

Gentle freeze-drying of pomegranate juice

After fermentation, the pomegranate juice is deep-frozen and then dehydrated under vacuum at a maximum temperature of 37 °C. This freeze-drying process produces a powder with a large surface area and good solubility. This greatly aids the absorption process, as only substances present in a dissolved form in the digestive juices can be absorbed. Freeze-drying optimally preserves the freshness and the natural spectrum of plant compounds.
