Facts about hair growth

Not all hair is the same. There are many differences, but all hair has common characteristics: it consists of flexible horn fibres, is around 0.1 mm thick and is characterised by high strength and elasticity.

Each individual hair is anchored in a hair follicle in the skin. It is created by the formation of new cells that divide exceptionally quickly - around five times faster than normal skin cells. A hair grows about one centimetre per month. If you add up the growth of all hairs on the head, the total length is around 30 metres per day.

On average, a hair remains on the head for around six years. During this time, it grows almost continuously. Only towards the end does it enter a resting phase lasting several months before it finally falls out. A new hair then develops from the same hair root and becomes visible after a few months.

• Adults: Take 2 capsules once a day unchewed with sufficient liquid
