- Cranberries are rich in certain secondary plant substances that give them their red colour. The capsules from Doppelherz system contain a high-quality cranberry extract with 36 mg PAC content in combination with pomegranate juice powder as well as vitamin C, zinc and selenium. This means that just 1 capsule a day is sufficient to achieve the amount of PAC used in nutritional studies.
- The cranberry is also known as the "large cranberry" and grows in the high moors of North America and is closely related to the European cranberry and the blueberry. It was already a valued and important food for North America's indigenous peoples.
- The pomegranate is probably one of the most interesting and mysterious fruits in the world and one of the oldest cultivated plants in the Middle East. The name is derived from the Latin term for seeds or grains "granae", as there are around 400 fleshy coated seeds in one fruit. The red, juicy seeds are also the only edible part of the fruit. They have a sour to sweet flavour, depending on the degree of ripeness.
