  • 100 µg iodine supports normal thyroid function
  • Folic acid as a contribution to normal haematopoiesis
  • Iron and vitamin B12 support the normal function of the immune system

Iodine supports normal thyroid function - Iron contributes to the formation of red blood cells

An adequate supply of nutrients is essential for health, performance and well-being. This also includes iodine, iron, folic acid and vitamin B12

An adequate supply of these nutrients is particularly important for women of childbearing age, pregnant and breastfeeding women, older people and people who do not regularly consume folic acid-rich leafy vegetables, iodine-rich foods (e.g. fish) and iron- and B12-rich animal foods (e.g. meat).

However, the German "National Consumption Study" in 2008 found that in Germany there is not always an adequate supply of iodine, iron and folic acid.

  • Iodine contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function.
  • Folic acid contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to normal haematopoiesis.
  • Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and to the normal function of the immune system.
  • Vitamin B12 contributes to cell division and supports the normal formation of red blood cells.

Just one easy-to-swallow mini-tablet from Doppelherz provides you with the two trace elements iodine and iron combined with 600 µg folic acid and 50 µg vitamin B12 every day

Iodine

Iodine is a vital trace element that the body cannot produce itself. It contributes to the normal function of the thyroid gland. For pregnant women, iodine supply is important as the unborn child is also supplied with it.

Why is there hardly any iodine in plant-based foods?

Unfortunately, plant-based foods contain almost no iodine. The reason for this goes back some time: in Central Europe, the soil was depleted of iodine during the Ice Age due to leaching, so that as a result the plants and animals in the food chain contain little iodine. This is why Germany is also known as an "iodine-deficient area".

Iron

  • Iron is a vital trace element that plays a role in many functions in the body. Iron is involved in the formation of red blood cells, the transport of oxygen in the blood and normal energy metabolism.
  • As the body cannot produce iron itself and loses a certain amount of iron every day, it is dependent on an adequate supply from food. In certain situations, the need for iron is also increased and an adequate supply from food is not always available. A predominantly plant-based or unbalanced diet can be low in iron or contain ingredients (e.g. black tea, coffee) that interfere with iron absorption.

Folic acid

Folic acid has a special function in the context of normal cell division. For this reason, women who wish to have children as well as pregnant women should ensure that their diet contains sufficient folic acid.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 and folic acid play a role in normal haematopoiesis and help to reduce tiredness and fatigue. What many people don't realise: It also supports the normal function of the immune system. Foods of plant origin normally contain small amounts of vitamin B12. People who eat little or no animal-based food should therefore pay particular attention to their vitamin B12 intake.
