Application
- The insertion rod has two different sides. Side 1 is for insertion, side 2 for removing a diaphragm. (Fig. 1)
- Hold the insertion rod with one hand. With the other hand, hold the diaphragm by the nubs so that it folds up. Now clamp the diaphragm first on side 1 and then hook the other side into one of the notches (centre of the rod). (Fig. 2)
- The diaphragm should now be folded lengthways and attached to the insertion rod with the diaphragm membrane facing the rod. (Fig. 3)
- Apply approx. 4 ml of the contraceptive gel to the folded diaphragm. (Fig. 4)
- Insert the insertion rod with the diaphragm as deeply as possible into the posterior vaginal vault. The insertion rod with the diaphragm is now inserted a good halfway and the diaphragm is no longer visible from the outside. (Fig. 5)
- Turn the insertion rod so that the diaphragm can detach from the insertion rod. Carefully pull the insertion rod out. (Fig. 6)
- If necessary, feel whether the diaphragm covers the cervix and lies in the niche at the front of the pubic bone. (Fig. 7)
- To remove the diaphragm, insert the insertion rod with the hook (page 2) a few centimetres into the vagina. Guide the hook of the rod behind the front edge of the diaphragm and hook it there. This allows you to remove the diaphragm from the vagina. (Fig. 8)
- Cleaning: Clean with soap and water before and after use. If used carefully, the insertion rod will last a long time and can be reused.
