Cosmopor® Transparent is a discreet and waterproof transparent plaster with a wound pad for reliable wound protection. It can be removed painlessly and is ideal for the whole family.
Cosmopor® Transparent is a self-adhesive transparent film dressing with a central absorbent wound pad. It consists of a semi-permeable, waterproof and transparent polyurethane film coated with a polyacrylate adhesive. The wound pad is made of viscose fibre and is covered with a polyethylene mesh, which acts as a non-adhesive wound contact layer.
Cosmopor® transparent can be used in the post-operative care of lightly exuding wounds, as protection against bacterial penetration and as a dressing for minor injuries
Properties
- The wound pad absorbs exudate and does not stick to the wound. The semi-permeable polyurethane film is coated with an adhesive. The waterproof film is permeable to water vapour and gases.
Indications
- Cosmopor Transparent can be used in the post-operative care of lightly exuding wounds, as protection against bacterial penetration and as a dressing for minor injuries
Dosage form
- Film dressing with wound pad
- Dressing size: 10 x 30 cm
- Wound pad size: 5 x 25 cm
Directions for use
- Clean the area thoroughly and ensure that the skin is dry and free from creams and ointments.
- Open the blister pack and remove the dressing. Cosmopor transparent is protected by four films, numbered 1 to 4 in the order of application.
- Loosen protective films 1 and 2 slightly. Then position the adhesive side of Cosmopor transparent, with the wound pad, onto the wound, ensuring that the wound pad completely overlaps the wound. Remove protective films 1 and 2 completely and press the film down gently. Adjust the film to fit the contours of the body in this way. Remove protective film 3. Then remove protective film 4 and press the dressing gently onto the skin.
- Cosmopor transparent can be removed almost painlessly by stretching the material. To do this, lift one corner and carefully peel the dressing off whilst stretching it.
