ConvaTec VARIHESIVE® Extra thin hydrocolloid dressing sterile, 5 x 10 cm, 10 ST

VARIHESIVE® Extra Thin is a hydrocolloid dressing suitable for the treatment of dry to slightly exuding wounds. The dressing is extra thin and flexible, making it ideal for use on hard-to-reach areas.

VARIHESIVE® Extra Thin combines the unique ConvaTec hydrocolloid formulation, which distinguishes the dressing from other hydrocolloid dressings, with a water-vapour-impermeable film to create an occlusive, moist wound environment.

Varihesive Extra Thin is a thin, sterile hydrocolloid dressing. Its inner layer (in contact with the wound) consists of a hydrocolloid layer embedded in an adhesive polymer matrix, whilst the outer layer consists of a film-coated polyurethane foam. Together with the wound exudate, the dressing creates a moist environment that promotes the healing process. This is achieved by supporting autolytic debridement, facilitating the migration of epithelial cells, and enabling atraumatic dressing changes that do not damage newly formed tissue. Varihesive Extra Thin can be used as a primary dressing or as a secondary dressing in combination with other wound dressings. The adhesive layer contains elastomeric polymers which enable the dressing to absorb wound exudate by forming a cohesive gel.

Indications

Primary dressing for all dry to moist acute and chronic wounds. VARIHESIVE® Extra Thin is particularly suitable for: 

• Skin abrasions
• Cuts 
• Skin fissures
• Skin protection, e.g. prevention of intertrigo
