Clarityn 10 mg tablets are an over-the-counter medicine containing the active ingredient loratadine, which belongs to the group of antihistamines. Clarityn helps to reduce your allergic symptoms by inhibiting the effect of a substance called histamine.
Histamine is produced in your own body when you have an allergic reaction to something.
Indications
- Clarityn relieves symptoms of allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever) with accompanying symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose as well as itching and burning in the nose and eyes.
- Clarityn is also suitable for treating and alleviating the symptoms of urticaria (itching, redness and blisters). The effect of Clarityn lasts a whole day and should help you to go about your normal activities during the day and sleep at night.
If you do not feel better or even worse, consult your doctor.

Directions for use
- Adults and children aged 6 years or older with a body weight of more than 30 kg: Take one tablet once daily with a glass of water, regardless of meals.
- For a body weight of 30 kg or less: Do not administer Clarityn 10 mg tablets. For children younger than 6 years or weighing 30 kg or less, there are more suitable dosage forms (not available in Austria).
- Children under 2 years of age: The use of Clarityn in children under 2 years of age is not recommended. Clarityn may only be administered to children under 12 years of age with a doctor's prescription.
- Route of administration: Take one tablet every other day with a glass of water, regardless of meals. However, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.

- The active substance is: loratadine. Each tablet contains 10 mg loratadine.
- The other ingredients are Lactose monohydrate, maize starch and magnesium stearate.
