Canea Ly Zinc capsules are a food for special medical purposes (balanced supplementary diet). For use as part of a dietary management programme for patients with herpes simplex labialis who have a particular need for lysine and zinc.
LY ZINK®* – for increased requirements of lysine and zinc, such as in the case of cold sores (herpes simplex labialis). High-dose pack of 15 capsules for just 3 days.

For use as part of a dietary management programme for patients with herpes simplex labialis who have a particular need for lysine and zinc. LyZink®: just 3 days’ use and your lysine and zinc stores are replenished.
Recommended intake: on the day the first signs of an emerging infection appear, take 3+4 = 7 capsules (= 2.8 mg lysine).
- Lysine is an essential amino acid that the body cannot produce itself. Herpes viruses require the amino acid arginine to grow. Lysine can displace arginine; without arginine, the viruses cannot grow or continue to multiply. It is important that there is more lysine than arginine in the body. You should therefore avoid taking LY ZINK at the same time as products containing arginine.
- Zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system and thus helps the body to defend itself against viruses.

Directions for use
- At the first signs of symptoms on the first day, take 3 capsules whole with a little liquid, followed by 1 capsule every 2 hours, 4 times a day. (The daily dose on the first day is 7 capsules, equivalent to 2.8g of L-lysine HCl.)
- On the second and third days, take 1 capsule four times a day, spaced a few hours apart.
- After 3 days, the symptoms should have noticeably subsided.
- Notes: LyZink® is not a complete food, but a balanced dietary supplement which must be used appropriately as part of a dietary plan and under medical supervision. The zinc content has been increased to meet the specific mineral requirements of affected patients. LyZink® should be taken in accordance with the recommended intake and on medical advice. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily intake. LyZink® should not be taken in cases of severe kidney damage, acute kidney failure, active autoimmune diseases, during pregnancy or prior to surgery. LyZink® should not be taken together with calcium supplements.
