Vitamin B9 (also known as folic acid) is a vital vitamin. Foods particularly rich in folic acid are wheat germ, spinach, cabbage, broccoli and baked goods made from wholemeal flour as well as meat and liver. Folic acid is involved in many metabolic processes in the body and is necessary for the growth and division of cells, especially for the formation of red and white blood cells.
