Bios Proline 500 mg capsules are a food supplement containing the amino acid L-proline.

Like all proteinogenic amino acids, proline is involved in the formation of proteins. This cyclic amino acid is part of the pool of free amino acids in the human body and plays an essential role in various physiological processes. Proline inhibits the activity of collagenases, enzymes that catalyse the breakdown of collagen. Proline therefore contributes to the preservation of these important structural proteins. In the skin, collagen is an important building block for connective tissue - after all, 70% of it consists of this protein.

L-proline therefore also plays a key role in tissue repair and cell renewal. Proline is also required for the formation of bones and cartilage. Meat and dairy products in particular contain high amounts of proline, which is why Proline 500 mg Bios capsules may be of particular interest to people on a vegan diet
