Potassium is also involved in the regulation of the water-electrolyte balance and regulates the acid-base balance. Potassium levels are strictly regulated by the body and if too much or too little potassium is present, this can lead to muscle dysfunction, kidney dysfunction and other unpleasant symptoms.
